![]() Rob Dingen (MSc, BSc, Eur ing) Rob is specialised in local level infrastructure development (rural roads, access and irrigation) and access planning with over 20 years professional experience. He started his professional career in The Netherlands working two years as a team leader and hydrologist in the private sector. Rob then switched to international development and worked from 1992 to 1997 Rob for the International Labour Organisation in Nepal and Malawi, in small-scale irrigation and infrastructure and local level access planning.
Since 1997 Rob has been successful as an independent consultant . For many years now Rob has been on the forefront in community access and local level infrastructure development and maintenance. He worked on assignments for international organisations, NGO's and the private sector in 25 countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific. As a technical implementer and as team leader Rob has been involved in all stages of projects and programmes, aimed at the most effective use of local resources. Participation and empowerment of local communities and decentralised government and NGO's is a focal point in his people centered approach. Rob is a good communicator at all levels. This makes him a good trainer and manager and he is comfortable discussing and negotiating at policy- and at grass root levels. Rob's report writing skills are excellent and his ability to explain subjects in a clear manner has yielded a wide range of training manuals and guidelines.
